HAMLET's beginnings as a band go all the way back to 1987. Despite the typical personnel changes, the development of the band member's personalities and their collective choice of musical direction have made their current line-up one of the most solid in the international hard rock scene. With their sixth album (called simply HAMLET), the band that pioneered a genre in Spain has redefined it. The album unlocks a new understanding of HAMLET as well as a new musical dimension. On the self-titled release (also their debut for Locomotive Music), HAMLET creates natural rhythms, flowing with energy and infinite spirit, while still remaining innovative, dangerous
and brave. This is one act always proudly pushing the limits.
Luis Tarraga (founder, guitarist and songwriter) determined to form a band, teamed up with his dynamic guitar partner Pedro Sanchez to found HAMLET. The two formed a dense, dark and striking collaboration that was like nothing else at the time in their native Spain. The partners enlisted Paco Sanchez (drums) and Augusto Hernadez (bass), along with the edgy, distinctive voice of J.Molly to complete the uniquely brutal line-up.
Produced by Colin Richardson (Fear Factory, Napalm Death, Machine Head, Five Pointe O) at Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas. HAMLET is destined to become an essential piece of the worldwide extreme metal scene.
