Lasting Weep 1969-1971Lasting Weep17,98 $ RE-ISSUE ( ARCHIVE 100% UNRELEASED) ¬ LASTING WEEP was the predecessor group of MANEIGE (Quebec’s best know progressive rock/fusion group having released 7 albums over 10 years). LASTING WEEP was formed in 1968 by flutist/saxophonist Alain Bergeron and pianist/clarinettist Jerome Langlois (both members of MANEIGE), drummer Mathieu Leger, and bassist Claude Chapleau, all from Montreal. The musicians were classically trained, and the group was extremely popular winning several music competitions, and playing music comparable to JETHRO TULL. They played at the Festival de Manseau in 1970 and backed-up the British Group King Crimson. Between 1969 and 1971, LASTING WEEP recorded lots of material including professional studio sessions, yet they never released any albums on vinyl, being far ahead of their time musically. In 1972, the group eventually became MANEIGE, who’s albums are in high demand in Quebec. The CD “LASTING WEEP 1969-1971” contains 100% unreleased material in the same style as MANEIGE, comprising 8 studio tracks and 2 live tracks, for a total of 75 minutes of incredible music. |
